well the dumbest thing happened...i was driving home after getting my truck back from a tuner and as i was driving home in over drive the torque coverter bolts snapped....this destroyed the flex plate and the converter..thank god the tranny is ok. but i was wondering what flex plate you guys are using? i already had a tci upgraded one. so if you guys have any suggestions on a flex plate...oooo and also i had a 3 bolt converter..i was wondering if any of you guys are using the 6 bolt converters...its for a 4l80

SUX. Still using the 3 bolt stocker on mine (65E). I am seriously considering a new build which will include an 80E conversion so I will be watching your posts

Did the bolts snap when the converter locked? In OD? sounds like it was a pre-existing condition that finally said "no more" based on your previous thread.

the bolts broke in OD...seems werid to me. if you are going to go to the 4l80 i would say its the best ever..they can handle so much...but it is a little heavier...i guess i just got a bad converter. if you have any questions on the conversion or need some advice feel free to ask
