Default Intake for Silverado SS

So I was looking around for an intake for my SS, I was planning on buying the K&N 77 series, but then a friend told me about the Fram Boost, and iam stick between the 2, so just wanted to see what u guys recomend.

i have been running the k&n for 3 years now and it does great. I have also heard good things about the outlaw.

Outlaw would be my first choice. Stay away from intakes with metal tubes, also intakes with closed box design are the best.

If you’re going to do K&N do the FIPK II but I have the Volant with the SS scoop and I love it!

How are intakes with a closed box better? Dont you want the get as much air as possible to the filter?

Intakes with a close box are better because they will suck the cool air from the fender rather than the hot air from the engine. At speeds, air will rush into the fender area and feed the engine with plenty of cool air.

My K&N is an open filter style but came with a heat sheild which seals to the hood so the only air it draws from is the air off the air dam and in the fender well.
