Default Information on upgrades for 2005 SS Silverado 2WD

Hey, i'm new to the forum and was wondering if you could tell me what would be the best mods for exhaust/transmission. I'm interested in the dyna long tube headers with either B&B tri flow or corsa cat back system exhaust. I'm also thinking about a shift kit for my transmission. I think the shift kit would be better than the tune for the trans. After I install my headers/exhaust/shift kit I will then be getting a custom tune. I'm located in the Dallas, TX area and I have heard alot of good things about nelson tune. My current mods are the vara ram air intake system. Everything else is stock. I know these trucks have a potential. I would eventually like to install a cam/heads but for now I will start with the flow/trans. I would appreciate any advice that you may have to offer................................Thanks DBRASCO

If you have the $$ the Dynatechs are a awesome set-up, if you'd rather spen a 1/3 of that get you some coated PaceSetters. I've got them and they are great! As far as trans mods go ahead and get the TransGo HD2 shift kit and corvette servo. I did that and had a kevlar band, hardened seperator plate, and aluminum accumulator.(and the damn thing still blew up ) Once you've got that consider a torque converter next.

For the rest of your engine mods an intake and cam would be most beneficial with a custom tune. After all that post up again with the rest of your budget.

I know some of the sponsors carry them and they are also on E-bay for cheap every so often too. As far as cat-back it's up to you for which sounds best to you. Personnally I think for cat-back setups Magnaflow and Corsa are nice. But I would just get a muffler like a Hooker Aerochamber or Magnaflow welded in place of the stock one, alot cheaper that way.

Try lurking around www.silveradoss.com . You should find some guidance there.

Hey thanks for the info on the dynatechs. Did you notice a difference by installing the headers/cat back system.
