Default how to put a ss wing on CORRECTLY

How do u put on a aftermarket silverado ss tailgate wing on a regular silverado?? I took off my original cap and removed the old 3m tape I took some 3m and put new on the tailgate then tried sticking it on and it doesn't hold? Any suggestions? Dont want it to fly away

Sheetrock screws and bondo.

You probably have the wrong tape. Have you talked to a dealership body shop? Find out what they use.

Well I bought the wing on eBay and they sent me a wing and a roll of 3M....just didint hold to well maybe sticking the tape on the wing instead of the tailgate?

When I installed my SS wing, we put the tape directly on the wing. Use the gray tape instead of the white. It works much better. Also, make sure both surfaces are clean, that will make a big difference as well.

There's a 3M tape just for body molding/cladding that I use that is fantastic, looks just like the factory stuff. 3M also sells adhesion promoter that I always use. Once it is on, it's extremely hard to remove.
