Default Head\Cam swap

ok. .im about elbow's deep in parts for my head\cam swap on the ole Blue Blurr 03 SSS.
I got the 243 heads (goin in for a valve job this week)
I got the head\intake gaskets
I got the LS7 lifters
I got new Felpro head bolts
Ordered the LS2 HD chain set
I got the rockers and rocker bracket
I need the fluids\oil filter
I may replace the coolant and heater core hoses.. (130,000 miles on them now)

I need need to get the timing chain cover gasket, cam and pushrods
Cam will be a 228/228 .588/.588 114LSA w\7.4 hardened pushrods
I'll also have to get Nelson to update the tune for the new stuff.

CONSIDERING a mesiere (spelling) electric water pump, but that might wait a bit as im researching how to get one to mate up properly with spacers, etc.

im somewhat searching for new valve covers to get them powdercoated or polished.

with this package, the Lvl5 Tranny, updated tune and 10.4 mm plug wires... can anyone ESTIMATE what they think the rwhp would be? im curious as i FINALLY found an AWD dyno in my area that id visit when all is said and done.

dont have a estimate but it should be nice, you milling the heads any?

theres a guy redheartbeat knows on ls1truck that makes the brackets, if you do decide to go with a electric water pump. you can cut ( grind ) metal off the truck alt. power steering bracket to mate it up.. its not that difficult..

i got some freshly PC'ed black valve covers that i decided not to use, if interested feel free to pm me..

im not milling them at all.. keeping them 'stock'

i also have an extra alt bracket that i want to get powdercoated, so maybe that can be altered.

Why do all the work to use a 'stock' head? At least if you mill them you can get you compression ratio 11:1

GEN III cam swap kit, has the crank bolt, the front cover gasket, the water pump gaskets...

cuz they are better than the stock 317 heads that came stock on the SS.
compression should be about 10.9:1. stock the 317 heads are about 9:1 or something like that.

when I used my heads as-cast, I wish I would have milled them, too easy not too while they are off, impossible to do back on

You are going to keep the same intake? or have you found a truck intake with the larger throttle body? or are you hiding a radix under your bed that will go one after your cam

injectors? My stock ones maxed on my cam swap, went to the 42's...but now I would have rather went 60's or the new GM camaro 42's. The 60's would be good if you went e85 and the camaro ones have all the data out there for free

im not doin injectors right now, not unless i find i need them
using the stock intake and stock TB, unless i find i need something more. but i will stay with a truck intake, so i can use my covers.
no radix.. no FI planned..or really desired anymore, same as N20.

one of the guys has an intake int he FS section. from a new truck, catherdral heads, 90mm TB

Might be worth checking out, then you'll have gains in the amount of air coming into the engine.
