Alignment problems with lowered torsion bars?
#1
I've got an '04 Silverado LT 2wd with torsion bars. I added dropped spindles and torsion bar keys from Belltech. Dropped it about 4 -4.5" overall. The alignment shop said they ran out of camber and castor adjustment and raised the torsion bars back up. Anybody else ever run into this situation? I did get an upper control arm bushing kit from Belltech (4955) that is supposed to add +2 degrees of camber. I've haven't installed them, yet. Belltech says these are a brand new item.

Man please tell me u found a way to fix the problem, I have an 07 silverado classic and I have the same problem, I have 3 inch torsion keys and 2 inch spindles. Every where I go nobody can tell me what I can do to fix it without having to raise it back up, that is one thing I don't wanna do, I didn't go low to come back up.

Well, since I posted that, I made some changes. I replaced the upper and lower control arms with DJM pieces and put the stock spindles back on and kept the lowering keys in. The combination of the lower DJM arm and Belltech spindles put the top ball joint at a very severe angle. Adding the upper arm fixed that, but I run 17" rims in the winter and the lower balljoint mount is just way too close to the wheel. At one point, I had the front lowered 5" and the back 6" and was living with the bad camber. Decided I needed the truck to be more reliable, so I raised it back up to about a 3.5"/4". I still have a little camber offset. What I am thinking about doing is drilling new mounting holes for the lower control arm and pulling them in about an inch. Just haven't gotten the ambition to tear in to it, yet. That is about the only solution I can come up with, other than dropping $4K on an air ride setup. Another option would be to sell the truck and buy one with a coil spring suspension. I'll post some pics.

i called stylin concepts and they said the only control arm they make for my truck is a 3 inch control arm, and thats what i was thinkin about doing, leaving the spindles on. That would be a total of a 5 inch drop. i have 22s on my truck and if i lower the torsion bars all the way i can tuck the **** out of those 22's, but the bad thing about it is when i back up and cut my wheel all the way the tire actually drags the ground. Everybody actually thinks my truck is bagged because of all the camber when its dropped all the way, ill put up a pic of my truck at scrapin the coast 09 and u can see how much camber it had.

i have mcguaghys spindles and eibach keys. the bolt to adjust the keys is almost all the way backed out. my truck is slammed in the front compared to how high it sat stock. i replaced my uppers with belltech bushings and it was perfect.
i broke a balljoint right after installing them but just found out the guy who pressed my moog in pressed it in sideways (for those of you who know they only should go in one way)
along with belltech street shocks and poly bushings and endlinks my truck has NEVER handled this well. ride is perfect. for the price of uppers these bushings are the way to go.
