4.8/5.3 build, APPROVED!

Hey guys, I finnaly got the ok from the Mrs. to do a engine build so im here needing advice/opinions...
Budget: $7000.00
Im thinking of maybe taking a 4.8l and putting a 373 stroker kit in it like so, http://www.coasthigh.com/Chevy-LS1-6...28-ps-c373.htm ... and then doing trickflow heads with maybe an LS6 intake conversion.
I already have these parts at home sitting in boxes,
-Trickflow pushrods 7.400
-Edelbrock 220/224 hydro roller cam
-180 thermo
-LS2 timing chain set
-4.10 ring and pinon gear kit
-Patriot gold valve kit
I'd like to get the best bang for my buck but still keep it practical. It is still my daily driver as of right now... any feedback would be AWESOME.

Scrap the 4.8 and swap in the 6.0 or 6.2 as a reliable platform to start from. You will be glad you did in the end. Throw heads, intake and FI in the mix and you got yourself a badass reliable motor.

I already got the exhaust. I have a 2005 RST regency. It also has a 5 speed manuel in it. Plus i have a nelson performance tune so i can just have them shoot me an updated one and pay for shipping whenever.
Whats PB lvl2?

The only reason y i didnt think i was going to do a 6.0 build was because i wanted to be able to still use my factory 5 speed tranny. At least until i can put a t-56 in it. But as far as i understood the 6.0 cant be hooked up to the 4.8/5.3 tranny and i was told the 6.0 i would have to change the engine brackets, idk... I was told all this by a local garage shop guy so let me know if he's full of it lol.

The amount that you will spend on that kit, you can have a low mileage 6.0
The bore and sonic check required to run that stroker kit in the 4.8/5.3 will not be cheap either.
I swapped the 6.0 in place of my 4.8 and it bolted right up to the transmission/engine mounts. The only thing I can think of that might run interference in the 6.0 swap with a manual is the is the early 6.0's had a different crank (long/short) as to how far from the back of the block it stuck out...IIRC

What's the lift & LSA of that cam?
Ever thought of F/I? A turbo from KB or Trick & a T56.

TVS maybe, but that could possibly break budget, but don't tell til after u get the extra power, then just say it was an oversight u need a better tranny.

But ya, some kinda F/I would be sweet. A turbo from 1 of those guys could come in under that, & leave some room to work.

Sounds like somebody did their homework on that & the crank snout info.
