You can watch the fuel trims to see that vacuum leak. Those two codes are lean codes I believe.

Spray carb cleaner/brake cleaner around vacuum lines, check all lines and gaskets for leaks before the exhaust. Also inspect your exhaust before the o2 sensors for leaks.

You can always smoke test the intake system, that will show you any leaks.

I have tried all those methods except smoke and watching fuel trims. I did attempt to blow cigarette smoke into vacuum lines did not work and made me stink. Do you know of any diy smoke methods? What PID's should i select to observe? Thanks for helping.

Anyone know what this thing is? Its on the drivers side by fuse box. The other end is connected to nothing. Should it be connected to something? Just a rubber hose.

How important is a stall converter on a turbo truck? As far as performance goes? I am itching to do somthing to the truck this winter. Tuning is my first priority but thats on hold for now. Seems like just about every turbo truck has one. What would be a good stall for daily driver? Is it a worthy investmant? I really dont want to pull the transmission but if it adds to the performance I would probably do it. Also why cant i find performance 6l80's? Everything performance is 4 speed. If I were going to buy a spare transmission for backup in case this one takes a dump should I be looking at 4 speeds?

Yes they do help with lag and with coupling power up top. Anything more than 400-500 and the stock converter just slips like crazy, "blows through", basically turning power into heat. The 80e is much stronger and cheaper than the 6speed in a race format. I think CircleD does make some stronger 6speed parts though.

Depending on miles driven and current gear.
A gear swap might yield you a better
performance bump then convertor.

Ok so maybe wait on a converter until I do some research on switching to 4 speed. Do them both at the same time

Never considered this will look into it. In 2 months I will have had the truck 7 years it currently has 66,000 miles. So I do a little under 10,000 a year. I am pretty sure I have 3.73. Is a gear swap somthing the average guy can do?
