6.0 Turbo build

yeah I got a stock converter still. Im hesitant to put in a higher stall cause I tow and plow accasionally. I know I have read about converters flashing, which is when it goes above it rated stall right? Cause I can get my stock one to about 2500 rpm when launching in 4wd, lets say I get a 2600, will it only go to 2600 or could I push it more I wonder?
A stalls speed is an estimate of what you can flash it to. Mines a 3,000 stall and I'm able to brake boost to almost that.
I don't think going a little looser would hurt you plowing or towing.

I think Graeme is right, a slightly looser converter wouldn't hurt you much at all. I'd like to see you running a 2800 or so. You would flash it higher by a decent margin, but it would be fine doing truck things. His is nearly exactly what its rated to behind a mild 5.3. Once he gets the blower going it will flash a lot higher.
Those are great times. I can't touch either one as I sit. maybe if my damn 102 worked I'd be in the upper 6's but 6.60 is flying. Any idea what their 1/8 and 1/4 MPH is?
The day will come where I run with them. And its not far off.

I dunno what their times were I havent seen any videos yet and I didnt see them run. Im sure theres gonna be videos eventually.
After looking through all the manufactures a 2800 from Circle D I think would be what Id go with
Hey I dont know if either of you will be around but SMG Motoring in Mendon, the shop my friend works at, is having a dyno day on the 19th, $50 for 2 pulls, Im going, dunno if ill put it on the rollers or not though

I won't be back in town until the 21st... which is a shame cuz it would be nice to put my hog on the rollers...

Yanks 2800 is 2x the $$ but they have a truck thruster 2600 and a 3000 basically the same price. I wonder if I could ask them to stall the truck thruster to 2800...
I definitely dont want a 9.5 cause that would heat up quick towing from what Ive read. And when I tow its not just a light car most of the time

But I just remembered something else, Id like to launch in 2wd cause leaving it in 4wd drops my mph so I might want a looser converter so I can make more rpms before spinning the rear tires. But I also would have to buy real tires first, like I know they make 33x12.50x16 slicks which would fit mint on my truck with some 16x8 or 16x10 rims...

I only bash the budget 278mm converters for the higher power builds. They arent built for it. You need a billet converter. In that case the Circle D and Yank are about the same price.
