Alrighty so I was investigating my underhood fuse panel today,
and if you remove the box there is a location on the power wire coming into the box for a fuse like this to be added on
This picture shows the power cable and then holder the fuse would go in between, you'd have to add a stud on the right side. (ignore the finger, I found this pic on google, bottom of picture is what i'm referring too)
Has anyone tried doing this? I know I read about it somewhere on the web...
trying to clean up my amp install and it seems like a pretty sweet place to hide my fuse.
Although after researching it seems the lowest amp you can get those fuses is 100a... seems like overkill for one amp... maybe my idea isn't as good as I thought.
Yeah, at 100A you may find the fuse is not the weak link that you want it to be. You could do some serious welding downstream of it...
Use that spot anyway though, just adapt a different fuse holder to fit it. It won't look dead-factory but it would still be cleaner than a fuse holder sitting separately on the fenderwell or something.
