Catch cans will always have a smell when they have a breather on them

Choice of oil makes a difference in smell....to help aid in it is to place it out of way from the vents of hvac

I'm not too concerned with smell at this point, my primary concern is possible detonation. What if I tee'd the passenger side into the driver's side?

Don't you want engine vacuum drawing the crankcase pressure out of the motor?

This pic will cause an issue. There's no fresh air coming through.
Just pull the line out of the turbo route it down in front of engine and install a filter.
Works fine up to around 600-650 hp. Or unless you engine has a hot amount of blow by.

Oily smell could be coming from any oil leak anywhere touching something hot.

I'll give that a shot. Oil smell is definitely coming from tailpipe, no fluid leaks.

You need to check your oil drain line and ensure the feed is the right side. I've read many posts about precision turbos leaking right out of the box

This one's a Magnum not a Precision. I had the turbo all apart and the drain is definitely on the right side. I redid my drain twice to see if it made any difference but I don't think it's the drain. There is no visible smoke, just a faint scent of burning oil that mixes in somewhat nicely with the ethanol smell.
