Default 4.8L Turbo/4L80E : 7.00@98MPH w/Videos

Well guys, some of you may have read, my 5speed to auto swap is done. With around 300 miles on everything, I was off to the 1/8th mile. These are my first two runs ever. Truck has 85K on it, 15K boosted. First pass was with a 3200 Footbrake, cut a 1.60 60, 7.09@97". Second was a 3500 Footbrake, Cut a 1.58", 7.00@98. I still got a transbrake to play with, but I'll save that for some slicks, not the daily 20's!

I then loaded the 75 dry Shot tune, but my bottle heater wouldn't turn on. Pressure was at 700psi. So, after running around some, got a nice local guy to torch it up to about 950. Pulled back around and they JUST closed the staging lanes. So close, I wanted to see what that extra 100HP or so would have done.

Over all....very very happy, all my hard work and research paid off. I wanted a 7.9 and 90+ trap. Got that and then some!!!

Setup run down:

Stock 4.8L to include headstuds/rod bolt/intake manifold
02+ LS6 cam and Springs
KB Racing Turbo kit/ MP70@ 15psi
CKperformance 4l80E w/ Circle D 3200-3400 Triple Disk TC/Flex Plate
20" Stock Foose Rims, 305/35/20 Nitto 555r Tires
3.73/TrueTrac/Strut Exenders Rear/Lakewood Front Drag Shocks
Cal-Tracs/No Overload Leaf/Moser Rear Cover/ARP studs
HPtuners/E85/80lb/Dual Walrbo
Built and tuned by me.

Extra Weight: Two Amps, Sub Box, Tow package still installed, two mufflers full exhaust, full leather interior, tailgate.

I'll be back out soon! Wish me luck and enjoy the vids!

Yeah i'll be using painter tape next time:

This is actually a nitrous tune pull, but the bottle was off. It's not a clean pull due to 10.5 a/f's, but only inside shot I got right now.

Great job. If you could run it out in the 1/4 you could probably squeak into the 10s.

Your so close to going 10's with that truck if everything goes together. You can go 10.9x on a 7.0 1/8th with a car, don't know much about trucks tho.

Very nice!!! Looks like people on stock bottom ends are having more fun than the built motor guys boosted, plus alot cheaper if it blows...

Exactly. When guys got 3k into their motor, they get nervous.

Thanks guys and thanks for the feedback Poopra. I really respect how you got your 2010 running!

I would love to get it in the 10's, no doubt about it. I'm currently running around 88% duty cycle. I really don't want to upgade injectors nor do I think I have much area left before a rod/piston gets pissed off and says i'm done.

That said, 1fstrst the MP70 turbo is sold and will be getting pulled off tonight. I got this little bad boy in a couple nights ago. Plan is to run it up till i'm out of fuel and should be enough to grab that 10 second slip.

Lol, I'll say you could find me in the pits easy due to my big smile. I was shocked as well. I was running around 18psi in the nitto's and they just bit on both runs. I knew it was a strong 60 by the *** meter.

About the engine, well, it's been a blast and i'm very happy with it.
