I have a friend that used to work at Jiffy Lube in NC. She always talked about how fk'd up that place was and the retards she worked with. She's a strange chick... cute but a crazy basket nutcase. I wouldn't want to work next to her in a grease pit lol. I guess if you're a state certified inspector it doesn't matter where you work. That said... proud to say I've never let pimple faced teenagers change my motor oil.

I run 5% on all windows and don't get too much attention. I'm afraid if I put anything on my windshield I would become a magnet.

besides, either the headlights on my 2002 aren't keeping up at night, or my eyes aren't what they used to be...

5% is too dark at night for me I won’t deny it. Been in a car with it and said hell no. 20% will be fine I think.

Red I always go to JiffyLube for inspection and that’s it. Nothing else but you can tell they do some funky work lol

I can focus far away but close up txt like on med bottles I have to put on my readers.

The tint I had on my 1968 AMX was a little dark for me even when I was younger.
My only complaint was reading the side mirrors at night especially in the rain.

This is the only photo I've been able to find of the AMX.
That's my dad riding the Honda ATV I bought for my six year old son Christmas 1986.

My (late) dad was 55 in that photo...
I'm almost 10 years older than him in the photo :eek

Tint not very dark... I loved that car!

gator start getting inspected at Jiffy Lube, I rolled my windows down before I got there (nice day out, tint isn't dark lol) and they never even rolled them up. After getting retinted I will probably pull the fuse for the windows every time.

jiffy is a no-go up this way
all of the quick lubes have tint meters & that is step 1 before they pull a car in.... if that fails, they wont touch your car.
my last car failed by 2% difference.... had to go elsewhere

seems they got busted by DPS a few times & fines were huge

found a shop, that as long as i do oil chg ... they overlook the driver/pass doors.

as the rest is legal... even @ 20% + 5% over it

What part of DFW? I’m West Ft. Worth. I gotta figure out where some of my buddies go to get inspected but I watched that jiffy lube guy and he never rolled the windows up. Just plugged in the OBD2, ofc no codes for me , and off I went

When I moved from OKC, i had 5% on my truck, after about a year of living in DFW, the local LEOs got wise to me and one day popped me for it.....only because that day he pulled me over it was very cloudy and raining its *** off....I still have the 5% on the back window but something like 35 or so on the side windows.....on a bright day, its not dark enough in there.

A few of my buddies are at 5% and they are good for the most part. But 5% is dark as hell imo I don’t know how you see out at night

I roll the windows down and unplug all of the switches. The windows rolling up and down are not a requirement to pass inspection. When they attempt to roll the window up to measure tint tell them up tell them there is a wiring issue and they will move on with the inspection.
