who's bagged?
#1
I'm looking for info from the users here that are running bags. Which kit did you get? from who? how much? how was the install? any other mods needed/reccomended to compliment the bags? If I choose to go with bags will I lose any towing ability? I have some jetskis and a 17" ski boat...
any info is helpful here, also if you have pics I'd love to see them. thanks

a 17" boat huh? not much of a boat now is that?
I know a bunch of peeps with bags, and its a good point you bring up with the towing ability. Ive never known anyone who has bags to get towed, as of yet at least. Im going to have to look into that, when i get my truck bagged.
Depending on your budget, how much you want to drop, and what level of quality you want, there are many choices of bag systems you can go with. As a rule of thumb, and good system, with a pro install, with good parts will run 4-5K.
If you want to find more info I can recommend a shop/guy to talk to...

I used to tow with my 2000 all the time. I have a 21' boat, some quads and jetskis and Ive never had a problem pulling them with the bags. Ive even moved around my dads 28' enclosed car hauler as well as his 27' boat.
My kit is by air ride technologies. They say all over their site that their kits retain the factory towing capacity, as far as I know, they are the only company that will claim that, But as long as you have a quality kit and the right sized bags, you shouldnt have a problem

I was just wondering, would it be remotely possible to put an air bag setup under my Denali? I have heard with it being all wheel drive, that the front driveshaft placement causes a problem. Any info on bagging AWD/4x4 trucks? Or should I just stick to the traditional drop method.

i had a 92 bagged and body dropped to the rockers on 20s with 3/4 inch line. didnt tow for ****. depends on what bag set up you get just dont get your bags mounted over the links. get the bags over the rear axle and you should be fine.my buddy just layed frame and he used his truck everyday for construction.

Here's a few pics of my truck before the tahoe grill
As far as bagging a 4x4, like a denali. It can be done but it gets a little pricy. A few companies make what is called a porkchop, which is a set of bags mounted to the torsion bar brackets, and it uses the bags to crank up and down on the torsion bars, so the suspension up front is still the same, its just controlled by a set of bags.
Or you could try using a set of shockwaves, which are basically the air bag equivalent of a coilover. Im sure a good shop could make some of those work up front, even with the limited space of the 4x4
