I bought a beater truck ('94 Chevy fullsize) that is pretty clean, just has the typical scratched up bed. Are there any decent do-it-yourself bed coatings out there? Anyone use one yet, and where did you get it?

I got the truck really cheap, and am fixing up little cosmetic details

I used a spray on liner on my old farm truck. I can't remember the name but it cam in a spray can. If I were to do it again do a herculiner. You roll it on. anything that's not rolled on or professionally installed will rip and peel and it wont take long to really mess it up and look bad.

 

Yeah ive heard good things about herculiner.

 

where do they sell herculiner? It doesn't have to last forever, its really just for cosmetics and future resale

 

Whatever you use, prep it really well, every non-rhino or lineX install i have ever seen has peeled.

 

I know Pepboys sells it.

 

Octerbeck off Jackson in downtown sells it. 4 Wheel Parts probably does to. I almost bought some once, but looked at the amount of prepwork (lots of it and a few $$ for supplies), cost (~$100 + cost of prep materials, time), and finishing thickness and decided it wasn't going to be worth it in the longrun when you can get it done for $300 + tax if you shop hard with a lifetime warranty. Do not waste your time on the do it yourself liners I have the herculiner in my jeep and it is peeling in places stuff doesnt even touch it it was a waste of money and I am now going to get a rhino lining do it once do it right.

 

oh their is your answer, just spend the 300 and get a linex or a rhino. Hell spend 150 put in a drop in. I really don't like drop ins.

 

i have a drop in that i'm tryin to sell for a NBS bed... it says GMC on it... i'll be driving through texas in may..
