Default What to call a drop on a 4x4..

Been curious on what to call drops on 4x4 trucks.. typical drops 2/4, 4/6 6/8 always having the rear 2" lower but on 4x4 trucks we have 2" block from factory.. so do we call 4x4 drops 2/6, 4/8 6/10???

what kind of drop am i? 2500 keys decranked.. altho they are 2" keys i measured 3" drop up front just on keys and rear has removed blocks, shakels and overload thats like 4.5" and working on hangers rt now and it looks like its gonna set dead even.. so is that a 3/6.5 or 3/4.5 or does removing overloads even count as a drop?? lol if not is it a 3/4, or 3/6?

Lower is lower.

Only idiots(my opinon or fact you decide) have the rear lower, the bigger rear number to to level the truck out. Cali lean is ugly and shouldn't be legal. A 4wd lowering kit will lower the truck what is says. Many times just pulling the block is part of the "kit"

If you put a drop shackle on that is 2 or 3 inches, if you remove the overload and it lowers it .5 then you have a .5 drop. I didn't use a kit of any kind and the only traditional part I used was a drop shackle. I was around 7-9 before I bagged my truck. Height before and height after is what your drop is in my mind.

I think the blocks removed are a free 2" and don't count towards "drop" because without them you arrive at stock 2wd height which is where most trucks on here are measured from.

So 2" hangers and 2"shackles and a removed block is a 4" drop, then maybe .5 from the overload leaf

The front end I think is about the same, so if the HD keys lower you 3 ", it's still a 3" drop for a 2wd as well

Thats an opinion, I've seen some trucks that look freakin good with Cali lean such as the white rcsb next to me in my signature pic

Agreed... I'll be slightly lower than level to tuck rear tire. As long as it isn't like a 2/8 drop it will look just as good as level.

Rake can look good too... All depends on taste and how it's done.

Clearly it is an opinon.

I see your point on the block being "free" but to me drop is drop. Mine was 2wd but I am sure it was as high as a 4x4 but didn't have a block. What truely matters is that it looks good and you are happy at then end.
