Default We had a good run...

Well...I guess it was finally time for something newer, better riding, better mileage. Loved having my truck since 2005, guess it's still hard realizing it's gone. I probably will end up with a truck again later on down the road, might go 4x4 next time...who knows. The Ram was a good truck, even though my last few mods didn't quite work out the way I thought they would...headlights didn't quite fit right...problems wiring them up...rougher ride from the 2/4 drop was starting to take it's toll...

I didn't know if there was a spot on the forum to post previous rides. I know it's kinda silly, but we kinda get attached to them after awhile...

I will not spend $ on that altima, save for other things. Good pick up tho, had an 06 altima before. Good daily and trouble free untill it sold.

I'm not going to spend a whole lot on the Altima; it already had the window tint I wanted. Thinking maybe a CAI, fix tailpipes (they don't sit quite right; not sure if I want to put exhaust on it), fix headlight that has condensation on inside (but if the headlights start to fog over...might upgrade to halo/projectors, not quite sure after the experience I had with the ones on my truck) and throw some Nissan/Infinity wheels on it; thinking Maxima SV, Infinity G35 Rays, or 350/370 wheels, but those will be a ways down the road. Better to have some little stuff on the Altima that I can live with for a bit instead of lots of major stuff with the truck that would keep it from running.

Another reason I for getting the Altima was so I could have something that wouldn't need a whole lot of fixing so I could focus on finishing up the Camaro...

Good news is the only value in the truck was sentimental.

I had an 05 Altima and loved it over all. Only bad thing about it was it blew up two motors and it had less then 20,000 on it when I turned the lease in! Covered under warranty and I changed the oil every 3000 with full synthetic but twice it put a rod through the block. I would consider another one if I was in the market for a car though.

Lol---^

Op: I understand about your truck, my 01 stepside has been in my family since 05 as well, hard to believe my truck is already 12 years old....
How many miles were on your truck when you traded it in? Mine isn't much over 89k

Right at 170k. I was getting the feeling that my good luck was about to run out as far as the truck not having major problems. Replaced the water pump, almost had a scare with the transmission (either whole transmission was going to need to be rebuilt, or it was just a small bearing; luckily I knew a great transmission guy back home who figured out it was the bearing and replaced it with better material, think it ended up being $50 instead of $1500). I did regular maintenance and changed proper fluids and all, but I could tell it was starting to loose power.

as far as "custm2500"'s comment, what's your deal man? sounds like you might have had a lemon altima to begin with or just drive the wee out of it...to each his own i guess.

Obviously not a dodge fan. You are very lucky your trans didn't need redone. They are well known for trans problems along with many other issues.

My Altima was the first car I drove sensibly! I only got on it a few times but nothing major and didn't beat it at all. I don't know what the deal was. The beauty of driving something that is on lease is that it was always under warranty. All I had to do was call the dealer and tell them to come get the damn thing!
