Angry Washed and waxed the truck...

on Sunday (you wouldn't know it from this damn dirt road I drive on everyday ) and this happened too me on the way home from work yesterday.

I was just leaving work to kick off a good afternoon. First stop was going to be the dealer so I can get my AC working, then I was going to go to Hooter's and check out how my friend likes her new job.

Well, after having to go back to work real quick, I get on the road. About 2 miles up the road, a very nice '76 CJ7 decides to drop a driveshaft.
As you can see from above I'm lucky I had my arm inside and it didn't come through the windshield. At first I thought it hit the grill (dreams of a shiny billet grill), but when I pulled over and checked it out, it was the fender. Why couldn't have been the hood? I want a flipper cowl!

The whole situation is kinda ironic. I just bought a '78 CJ7 Saturday and this is the second driveshaft I've seen come off this summer. The First one was off of a old K-5 Blazer. Luckily I was behind him and heard it howling before it cut loose.

Thanks for letting me vent. I'm sure I'll get a few "Damn dood, that sucks!"

And yes, it'll buff right out.

Well, the Geico guy his here. Wish me luck!

Nothing a little touch-up paint and some creativity can't fix...

LOL, I almost got to keep it as a sovenier, but them footing the biil (~$700) is payment enough. I may even consider a new front end, but after the incident at the beach, it looks like my mod money will be spent in repairs.
