Truck is back on the road :)
#11
A friend said "damn, that WAS a nice truck." I asked him why the hell he was saying was, it's not going any where!
The first shop I went to was a joke. They told me if it was drivable they would have me come back in January. They wanted to replace the bed side which added up to a bunch of labor. Take that and figure in it's a 2000 with over 160,000 miles and it doesn't take much to equal totaled
(My dad was only offered $2,400 trade in for it 2 years ago which is the only reason I got it). I asked the first shop what would it take just to make it drivable but after 3 days they still hadn't returned my call so I picked it up and drove it to another shop, lol. They replaced the right leaf spring and left axle shaft for $600. Found the bed at a junk yard a block away for $1500 and a chrome bumper on craigslist for $100 and they charged $300 to swap the bed and remove the trim. Then I spent $200 to have the flowmaster put on. A week after I got it back I found a good painted bumper for $140 so I'll have that color match and installed in place of the chrome when I get the truck painted. The LED tail lights I ordered had a short in the right rear light so I had to send them back. Still waiting to get my refund...trying to decide if I want to go LED again or just do a 05-06 chevy tail light with LED bulbs in it
