And yes it has been done, my truck rolls around with rolled fenders!!
Mine were only widened by an inch so it's not as noticeable as others who flare it out by 2+ inches. Be careful of how much you do it because at some point it becomes apparent something amiss with the fender.

Here's what mine looks like, unless I actually tell people most don't even notice it....


Those tires are 275's and if I was low enough you can probably see how much clearance there would be. I can tuck up to a 315 in the back if need be.

love the stance of the truck, and for some cheap wheels, i think they look badass.
