Hey all! I'm looking at some new tires for the ride. Just wanted some opinions. The ones I'm looking at are the General Grabber UHP, Hankook Ventus st rh06, Bridgestone Dueler HP, and Cooper Zeon XST. Are all, or some of these directional? I'd actually prefer not going directional because of AWD (Silverado SS) and rotating but still looking for really good performance and longevity. Any thoughts? Thanks!

 

Yes, all of those are directional. I have Mastercraft Avengers which are pretty much the same tire as the Coopers and I like them. Its a good wearing tire and has really good traction. I've heard good things about all the tires you mentioned though. If you want a multi-directional tire though; I suggest looking at Nitto 420's. They're supposed to be really good tires.

 

thats what got me, i got the 420's just for that reasion, i figured i could get twice as much tire ware w/ non directional tires

 

I love my Hankooks. They do great on my truck in the rain and havn't had any problem. I only had them on for 2 months though, before I took the wheels off for the winter.

All of the tires that you mentioned are good tires to my knowledge, I just ordered a set of Falken STZ-04's for my denali yesterday. They came highly recomended by a friend whom had them on his denali. They are not directional and have the deepest tread available in a sport 20in tire ( 14/32) I was going to go with the Cooper Zeon XST's however after some research found that they stopped making them, not sure why they look like a sweet tire. I have coopers now and they have been great. Check out the falkens....

 

Let's say I was looking between only two tires: The Falken Ziex STZ04's and the Nitto 420's. The Falken is $20 cheaper per tire. Which would you go with?

 

falken makes a long lasting tire but they don't hook too well. i had them before the general grabber uhp's and the generals are much nicer.

 

Not sure how the falkens hook but having AWD it is not as big of an issue, I really like the look of the falkens and wanted a tire that was not directional for the obvious reasons.
