Default Tail lights?

Im looking to black out my tail lights this weekend and was wondering if any guys have any tips to which way is the easiest but best at the same time. Ive heard alot of methods to do it such as spray paint and bake, tint, tail light covers ($$$), and a hole new tail light...which one is the easiest way to do this?

1. wash them
2. grey scuff them with a cleaner
3. wetsand with 1000
4. wash again with a cleaner
5. let them dry
6. basecoat black with a clear tint - similiar to a candy
7. clear

when you do your basecoat, the amount you put determines how dark it is. If you want to still be light, just do a couple of coats. if you want it dark, load it up in small amount.

I've done a few with rattle can, but if i were to do it over, i would just get them professionaly done, and be done with it. Plus they look better too.
