I have a 02 gmc and I was wondering if I could swap a 03
steering wheel onto my truck. I havnt really had the chance to
look into it, so im not to familiar with this. any help would be a great help.

 

I don't see why it wouldn't work, I am almost positive that they bolt on the same. They only thing that might be different would be the airbag plug but I would imagine that they would be the same.

 

yep, it'll work, direct bolt on.

 

So the airbag would work the same as the other.

 

They should use all the same plugs.

 

air bag should be the same, and if you dont know how to change the wheel its easy, 1, diconnect your ground. 2, there are 2 small holes on each side of your air bag, stick a very tiny screw driver in each hole to release the spring that holds the airbag. 3 pull off the bag and unplug it, then its the old fashioned undo the nut and get the wheel puller, assembly is reverse of install, good luck.

 

Ill order the steering wheel and the airbag on monday. Lets hope the plugs are the same, if not ill make it fit. lol thanks for the help, later.

 

So the airbags are the same? What about the cover that goes in the center of the wheel, for the airbag? I'm very interested in how this turns out.....please update your progress.

 

I ordered the steering wheel and the airbag yesterday. the guy at the dealership said it wouldnt work in an 99-02. I orfered it anyway, what do they know.lol

 

How much did the whole thing cost you? Im looking to do the same thing.
