If you are talking about the production Silverado SS grille, you can find one at www.gmpartsdirect.com. The part number for a black SS grille is 15178219. It's about $250 and comes pre-painted. I have one on my truck and I like it.

You can paint the factory one, just scuff the crap out of the chrome with scotchbrite.

Yeah but the SS grill has a different mesh pattern on the middle part, The openings on the mesh are bigger. But if your going to install a grill overlay then it won't matter.

I also have a black vho,if your willing to come to baytown i had a bodyshop paint my engine covers tailgate/door handles and my factory grille and inserts and they put front and back ss clone bumper covers under $900 If you ever go to hrp you could see how it looks on my truck

FWIW, here is my 04 Silverado with SS grille purchased from GMPartsDirect.com. Took almost 4 weeks to get it and cost was $280 with shipping. Took all of about 10 minutes to install.......
