I am going to get the Line-X in my truck here soon. But I also wanted to mention that I read in a Magazine, that some of you might saw. That they were rebuilding a boat trailer and when the had the new wood that holds the boat on the trailer (the "bunks") They had those pieces of wood Line-X'd, and then carpeted over them. I just so happen to have a boat and a trailer that desperately needs rebuild and I am going to have that done to the wood at the same time of my bed and hopefully save me a little bit of money. They say it seals the wood like you wouldn't believe! NO MORE ROT! I love it!

Just thought you might like to know!

take it from a fellow boater that has been there/done that. Go to local hardware store, I chose Lowes and buy a gallon of fiberglass resin. no need for the glass just the resin. Buy some cheap brushes that will be worthless when done. Then cut your new bunks and brush on the resin. Let it dry 24 hours and carpet. It will last forever and is very inexpensive. Just be sure to mix the resin/hardener in small amounts as it can and will start to cure fairly quick.

I know resin is made to bond to wood and definitely designed for a marine environment. it also makes a smooth finish. I would think the rough finish of a bedliner would cause problems with adhesion with the glue. I would think friction caused by the boat moving on the trailer would eventually wear away the carpet from the inside out
