solution to escy handle key hold problem
#1
thats right bitches, i'm a damn genius
I have heard of lots of people having issues trying to decide what to do if they didnt have a key hole on the pass side and wanted to swap handles. The rear escy handle wont work since the mounting points are different so this left people stumped, well, I have a solution. I work at Lowes so after work today I headed over to the hardware dept to see what we had. I picked up a 3/4" Chrome Rossette, bassically a fancy headed nail for hanging mirrors and such.

Instead of being flat, the rosette has a slight bulge to it that fills the hole nicely and makes it look quite good. I just superglued the rosette in place and bam, no more hole, and the rosette looks like it should be there stock.

In the pic you can see that its a little scuffed up, I solved that with some mothers chrome polish before i put the handles on the truck. The truck is dirty and the handles are all smeared now, but if its not raining i'll get some pics up tomorrow of them on the truck, specifically the pass side. Hope i have been of some help with this issue instead of just hording a nice solution for a mod to myself *cough* denali clears *cough*

I had no idea about the '03+ handles. I bought these ones for $80 prepainted in indigo. This was important to me since escys dont come in indigo and I didnt want to deal with having them painted. I got a good deal and came up with a way for it to work.

It is best to call them to order them. If you look up under 00-02 Escalade, front door, lock and hard wear, handle outside. The price is 28.00 each BUT that is for the handle with out the chrome pulls. I found that out when I opened the box, so I called them up and said wtf. They said the chrome ones will cost you 85.00 or 88.00 for both. I bought the black ones and had them painted Indigo blue. I will get the info on what the name of the pin I used to put the chrome handle on after they were painted.
