Default Side molding

What is the best way to remove the big side molding on the silverados? Has anyone had trouble with the paint under the moldings like defects?

I used a heat gun (you can use a blow dryer) and a plastic putty knife any residual adhesive usually will come off of you roll it with your fingers and then I hit it with some 409 and that was that............then start parking far away.

They are just held on with adhesive. Here is a thread about what kinds of products can get it off.

fishing line to "cut" it off, a 3M stripe remover wheel on a drill is worth it's weight in gold on this step, goo gone or something of the like for the light residual left behind, then wax. Instead of taking half a day, you will have the whole truck debadged in an hour... that's cleaned up and pimpin'
