Default Which shocks after changing to 20's??

I'm getting ready to install JGP 20's with 285/50/20 and want to know, with the bigger tire and wheel mass do I need to change to a heavier duty shock and if so, which one? I installed the 2" shackles, pinion shim, and carrier bearing relocator this past weekend. I'm not impressed with the factory shocks with the stock 16's so I figure I'll really be disappointed when I get the 20's on. Would the KYB MonoMax be a good choice??

Well, I can't suggest shocks from experience but I've heard great things about Bilstein shocks. What's wrong with your stock ones? How many miles on your truck? Nice choice of wheels and tires, BTW. I wouldn't mind having those some day. Anyways, I just noticed you were from Summerville. I'm from Charleston. Sean is another member on this website who is also from Summerville. He is known as "Silver-Dollar" on this site. He has a 03 RCSB 5.3 with a couple bolt ons. We met at Lowcountry Dragway a couple months ago....cool guy.

There isn't really anything wrong with my shocks other than they ride a little too soft, but I'll see how everything goes when I get the new wheels before I make any changes. Yea, I live in Summerville and work at Charleston AFB (which I see you do as well). I've seen your truck on base a time or two. You have a good clean looking truck. Nice job!! I like the photos you posted in the forum taken over at the Air Park.

with the shorter sidewall tire, it will ride a little bit stiffer, so you might like it with the stock shocks. if you want to change them, a lot of people run the doetsh techs. (sp)?

With just bigger wheels I doubt you will need new shocks. If you were doing any sort of drop, you would need appropriate shocks, no question. I went with edelbrock on my drop and they work fine.
