when u weld in the RP and someone or you hit something, ur screwed... you have to cut it out and refab another one... tons of work and $$$... with a bolt in, another pan and paint is much cheaper... but yea, welded looks a little better.

What part of Louisiana you in? Dusty (the guy that did the work) told me to send anyone his way that wants work done. He lives in Gonzales. If you wanna give him a call I'll pm his number to ya. You won't be disappointed.
I didn't want to for a couple reasons. I was unsure about the resale value of the truck without a bumper, If I got hit it would be more work, and I've seen a few crack over time.
To shave the handle and the little holes at the top of the gate, paint it, prep and paint the pan, and spray an undercoat on the back of the pan to prevent rust it was $650.
