Roll pan or painted bumper ... opinions wanted
I'm torn between getting a new rear bumper and painting it or doing a roll pan. Plan is to do a 4/7 drop and keep the factory wheels and go with a 275 40 20 tire. For exhaust I'll dump it near the axle with a roll pan and might run a single exit with tip if I keep the bumper. I think they both will look good just can't make up my mind.

I agree. I painted mine as well. At least if you get rear ended you have a chance...

I welded in a roll pan on a bagged 01 rcsb I had and it looked great, but I've seen some of the rgv trucks with both bumpers painted and they look good too. I'm torn. I need a new bumper because someone was so kind to back into my truck and not say ****. So either way I have to do something about the bumper/roll pan situation.

I'm in the same boat, I need new front and rear bumpers as well as plastics, so I'm trying to make the same decision. I think painted plastics on the rear with the chrome bumper looks great, but if your bumper is damaged then it might not be cost effective. I've been searching Craigslist and some guys think a dented bumper is worth $250

I have run across the exact same issue with people thinking these bumpers are worth gold. I have seen some pretty reasonable on ebay but the are aftermarket.
