Default Roll Pan how much should painting cost

I called a body shop that we have used for yrs....their off of kyuendalh & 1960. I asked him how much would it cost to install and paint a steel roll pan. He quoted me $517...Doesn't that seem really high? also asked if he could mold it in, keep in mind that i have a step side and the bed is made of plastic. He said he really didn't see how that could be done because the flexing of the plastic against the steel; he believes that it would eventually crack...what do yall think?

as far as the flexing i HAVE heard that before from several guys i know who do body work, from personal experience i have none though

as far as the price that isnt molding it to is it? if not that price is absolutely RIDICULOUS. ive got quotes at getting my pan painted including materials and paint for like $130 or something, theres NO way its another $400 just to have them install

i remember Trever1t having a thread for when he got his pan done and this was what he had pricing wise i think, not sure if he got his on ebay or wat though

No, that was just for paint and installation..no molding...

over the years my wife has wrecked 3 cars and i have wrecked 2 totaling at least $40,000 worth of work we have sent his way.

you think he would cut me a deal???? for that price i couldd go buy my own HVLP gun and the rest of the farm..

Did you already buy the pan? Why not just get a glass pan and glass it in?

That was another thing I was pondering...some ppl say only go with metal b/c fiberglass cracks to easily and others say don't go with metal b/c it dents to easily...but I was thinking about acrylic and glass that in. keep the suggestions coming.

I would suggest welding it in. If you glass it it make sure it is attached with bolts or screws on the side.
