Default roll pan and hood questions

i have been heavy into the mods but never started on the looks part of the truck. thinking i need a roll pan and a cool hood, tinted windows and another 1" or so drop.

on the roll pan, is there a good one to buy, i imiagen that a super cheep one could be made that will rust easy, i want a good one. any sugestions?

on the hood, i have alot of hial dent's so this one makes sence. do people really have troubles with the fiberglass hoods? there are some fiberglass hoods that i like but i don't wan't one that can't be painted nicely or has other problems. if no one helps me on this one i will probably just get the goodmark steel cowl hood, only heard good thing about that one. is the fiberglass one any lighter?

any insight on either one of these items would be apreciated.

edit... anyone know if the factory hitch can be used with a roll pan?

edit again... seems like the factory hitch bolts to the bumper, hmmm, thats not going to work.

Sir Michaels is the only way to go for roll pans. And they make a "hide a hitch" that hides behind the license plate.

I had good luck with my fiberglass one from prestigious customs. I will get you a link. with the right steel/fiberglass pan you can get a flip up plate and a hidden hitch to solve your towinfg needs.
Urethane is nice to but no one makes one for my stepside. I like sir michaels but fiberglass is alot less in wieght. Truckin mag has a host of dealers that sell them at decent prices.
btw. nice video <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
www.prestigious1.com Ther 's no picture. I can send you a pic of mine.

I just put a Street Scene urethane roll pan on mine. It looks great IMO and I will post some pics soon. But in your case Parish, you may want to consider a urethane one rather than a fiberglass one. A urethane will take more abuse than a fiber or metal one. Also if you plan on demodding the truck for selling, I would stay away from a weld in. In my case, I just don't like the look of the sir mikes french cut in the plate area.

Here are some pics of my street scene urethane roll pan...

The little cover to the right of the plate is for the spare tire crank... the only way my dad allowed me to get the rollpan was to keep the spare tire <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> (Now I get to be laughed at because I am just 17 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> lol)

Here is my vote for the best looking hood. I have a 2000 GMC and just wish they made for both the Chevy and GMC.

some good points about the urathane, i would like to be able to remoeve it when i go to sell it. by saying it is more durable does that mean it is like a bumper cover or side molding where it will bend and return back?

As far as the roll pan,I have an APC which they told me was identical to the sir michaels but cheaper. And the hood,I have the ram air fiberglass hood from eastcoastcustoms. It is great, but takes a little bit to adjust to line up and it fits tight on mine as far as shutting. But I have had more compliments on the hood on my truck than anything else so it is staying for now.

Thanks,
Mike
