if you don't have a sportside, buy a metal pan and you can just fill the seam in with a welding machine
if you do have a sportside, but a fiberglass pan and you can fill the seam in with a little more work.

either way the smooth look will definately be nice

I plan on re-working my truck's rear end and getting a new steel roll pan. I'll be welding it in and having the box resprayed. I'm also probably going back to a normal tailgate with the license plate getting moved onto the new roll pan. Not sure if I'll flip the handle on the new gate or not.

yeah, i was going to say, it would depend upon which material you chose to use for the rollpan, as to whether you'd need to use bondo or not to fill.

definately get a steel pan and have it welded in, you will be happy with the outcome, shaving the tailgate handle will make you even happier that you did it

That's what I don't like about mine, with the steel pan and plastic bed, it don't go together that well. I spent hours adjusting it, to get it just right, but then you got them lines! Yours look really good!

I dont really care too much for a rollpan on a stepside, just dont like the way it drops off. Looks clean on a fleetside. I'm thinking about just painting the rubber around the chrome pewter to match the truck.

I've got my handle shaved but I'm not sure if I'll do it again though.
