Default is it required by Tx law to have backup lamps

just like it says. currently painting taillamps with candy clear and dont want the white backup light. anyone know?

I'm not sure it's required, but I think it is. But just call a few different inspection shops and see if you get the same answer. I know they check to see if they are working around here.

I am not sure either, but I am pretty sure that they are required. I could not see why they would have a law that says you dont need to have them. Here in Arizona you need them.
