Replacing the Factory Pinstripe
#1
like most of these trucks the pinstripe on my '01 sierra is pretty well faded and i want to replace it. im assuming i would get that from the dealer? anyways whats the best way to get it lined up in the same spot when putting the new one on? id imagine it would be pretty easy to screw it up and have it look like crap
thanks

Looking to do the same with my '00.
I plan on only removing one side at a time so that I can use the other as a template to line everything up. When I removed the dealer decal I use a hairdryer to warm the adhesive, a razor to catch an edge to pull off, and car wax to remove adhesive residue.
Hopefully a paint and body man will chime in.

i was trying to find that 3M pinstripe removing wheel today but had no luck in town. for laying the new pinstripe on i havnt thought of a good method of laying down the new one so it lines up perfectly like the old one

Eraser wheel and sticker shock is best. If you leave the truck out in the sun for about 15 mind and allow the sheet metal to heat up it will peel right off by hand. I peeled my pinstripe and actually like it better with out it. But pinstripe can be picked up at a paint and body supply house.
