Default Removing...

Hey guys, tried doing a search, couldnt find anything for 04 single cab issue. How the heck do u take of the back and side wall plastics? I got a little dent that im gonna need to rub out from the inside. Does anyone have a diagram or steps to remove? Im really trying not to break the plastics on this one. Ive removed the door panels before but not the back/side wall ones. any help would be greatly appriciated. I gotta get this dent fixed! its buggin the hell outta me

Oh ok, i thought you meant the Exterior moldings. Man never tried taking them off. There gots to be some screws or clips holding them together.

yea exactly what i was thinking, just kinda want to know where they are so im not outright "expermenting" if u know what i mean. i have a habit of just digging into things and 8/10 break something guessing. just trying to take this cautiously.. anyone else have some input?

i talked to a stereo shop who said when they are going to do the rear panels on these chevys they automatically figure in buying new clips because most of them break. they also told me to have a long pen magnet ready to get the pieces out of the body cuz if you leave them they rattle really bad

Pull the rear off first. IIRC, the sides have two screws - remove them and then pull off the sides.

I've never had a problem with anything breaking when removing the trim pieces.

hes right about the screws.. and probably why he didnt break any is because he pulled them from where they were connected into the body.

Some ppl tend to yank them from where ever which works.. but also bends those little dinky clips real easy. After you get those screws off, the rest of the rear part just pops off. You need to have a good grip to get the side moldings off. If you pull from right where you open the door up at.. like that edge.. you can start from the top and work your way down. I'd go ahead and order some clips.. because since youve never done it before, you wouldnt kno exactly where each clip is and may bust a few.

Good luck.. let us know what happens
