If you're gonna paint it clean it with Dawn or another dishwashing detergent to get rid of the oils in the plastic then spray a few coats of adhesion promoter (Bulldog is a very good one). Then you're good to paint.

i just want the 3 piece cuz my valve covers look like **** and so do everything else around it. is there any certain year escalade covers i need to be looking for.

2002 and up. Silverado SS and (I think) the Denali's have similar covers.

I've got to spare truck intakes that I can experiment on so I really don't care about grinding through. I like the three piece covers but I think the motor looks sweet without anything covering it up. I've got an extra set of valve covers that I'm going to paint and the three piece covers would cover them up. The idea of vette covers crossed my mind too but I'd like to see my work when I'm done

Theres always a way. Its been done with a truck intake. Just takes alot of cuttin and riggin. I still might try. I can't make up my mind
