pre cut window tint?
Hey guys, Im looking at buying a pre cut window tint @ 20% for the wifes 4runner and doing it myself instead of paying the $265 local places want. Anyone ever done this or buy something similar? I am pretty thorough and Im sure I could do it since all of the windows are flat, but the back 3 windows have defroster/antenna so is it pretty simple to make sure there are no bubbles? Thanks in advance

I am not sure of the quality of the tint, but the price is right. The front two windows are still clear, but the rear windows have the factory tint which is not very dark so I wanna make it pretty dark

If your doing it in a heated shop it will be fine. I realize your dealing with several more windows than our trucks have, but I got mine tinted locally with 5% all the way around and a windshield strip at the top for $125. That was by a glass/mirror business and they use 3M tint which is about the best out there.
I would be a little weary of the quality of tint that comes in that kit; I can tell that mine has faded a bit over the years and it is top notch quality. BUT, for under $40, your not losing much.
What % tint is on the back windows now? More than likely, it's 20-25%. If I were you, I would go over all the factory tint (if it's in good condition) with 20%, then slap 5% on the front windows. I would definitely get a windshield strip in 5% as well, if they are available pre-cut. I love mine and they look good. That would make it look like you have 5% all the way around. Don't roll your windows down for a couple days and let it sit in the sun as much as possible to evaporate any small moisture pockets under the tint.

Ok thanks guys, Ive had all of my other vehicles tinted professionally but with that price I dont feel like shelling it out. I am guessing the factory tint is around 30-40% Its really not dark at all. The factory tint on our trucks is right at 20% (shop said so, may be right, may be wrong) but hers is not very dark at all. I had 10% on my tundra a few years back on the rear and I loved it.
I want her tint on the back windows to be around 15-20% but I dont know what to lay over the factory tint to get that...any help would be great
