Default Possible new wheels

I was test fitting my 295/45/20 tires on the front and rear, taking some pictures along the way. And from the looks of everything I can get away with 6.5" backspacing on a 10" rim.

So, I did a little graphical editing and pasted in a picture of the possible Billet Specialties wheel I think I might get. What do you guys think?

Sorry for the black and white but the white balance was way off and it looked better than color. And yes, that is the mountmate you see poking through the wheel.

Do you want the tires to sit flush with the fenders? Do you ever plan on lowering your truck?

The tires sit flush with the fenders using the 6.5" BS. I could probably go 6.75" and it would look a little better. I should have mocked it at 6.75" when I was doing it - but I do that later.

I had though of doing a 2/4 drop, but reality will most likely be a 2" drop in the rear. if i went with a 2/4 I think I would go with 265/50/20 in the front.

If you want the wheels to "tuck" then you'd need 7.5" of backspacing on a 10" wide wheel. 7" on 10" wide would work if you just want to go 2/4. I wouldn't go with less than 7" as they'll appear to "stick out" some. I have 5" backspace on 8" wide wheel and it works well for me, but then again i'm running very small tires (245/40/20). If you are even considering going 2/4 then i'd get 7.5" of backspace for when you decide 2/4 isn't low enough and want to go with 4/6

I mocked up with the 7" backspace in the rear and it looks great. I also tried some different backspacing on the front and decided I would go with the smaller tire up there.

So here's what I have decided to do:

Front: BFG KDW 265/50/20 8.5"width 6" backspace
Rear: BFG KDW 295/45/20 10"width 7" backspace

I feel comfortable with this setup whether I go with a 2" drop in the rear or a 2/4 drop. I will never go more than that - some things you just know.

That should work nicely for you! And if you ever do go lower, or sell the wheels to someone else who is then they'll only have to roll the rear fenderlips to make them work

By the way, Billet Specialties is an awesome choice of wheel, one of the best in my opinion!
