the stock latch is already modified to put the exchanger as high as possible. the 1st gen Camaro latches are not cable driven (at least mine isn't), so they are pretty large compared to latches on vehicles today. I'm going to leave it alone for now and focus on the bigger issues of the car. If the data says I need more airflow or a larger exchanger, i'll reconsider then.

Nothing sets off the wicked meter on a classic muscle car like safety lanyard hood pins. My opinion, ditch the whole stock latch assembly and run these, no worries about proper latching....

LMAO! I get that. Unless they are set up JUST SO, they can be a problem.

Measure 12x, doubt yourself another 12x, put down your purse and drill a hole in your camaros hood...

I like the end result. The oem latch is gone. Im going to figure out a safety strap as extra insurance. Best case scenario to ugly *** hood pins IMO.

The stainless studs are even pretty low profile considering...

Thanks. I'm happy with the final product. losing the OEM latch put my heat exchanger in the perfect position to get 100% airflow. this heat pump KB blower needs all the help it can get.
