Default polishing a turd..

started out with just the base model interior, no power anything, am/fm radio only with 1 working speaker, center jump seat without fold down console. One of the a pillar trim pieces was missing and 2 of the vents were broken. Trip to the local junkyard and a couple ebay purchases and here's where it sits now.

new stereo and speakers (1 speaker was blown 2 had broken wires at the door jams), got lucky and found the right color jumpseat and trim panels at the junkyard, lid for the console and steering wheel from ebay. Picture doesnt show but i got the steering wheel buttons from the junkyard today, they dont work but fill the holes, i may try and wire them all up but i never really used them in my old truck.

Decent so far.

I got lucky with a 06 gmc I got, sorta. Has manual locks, manual windows, already had a am/fm cd radio and the center console and working speakers lol. Now it just all mechanical stuff, needs a rack and has a lifter/exhaut leak or rocker noise, but o-well.

this one was a fleet truck from the company i used to work for. the company took care of it mechanically as far as oil changes and other maintenance but cosmetically it was trashed. i bought it off them when they upgraded to newer trucks, got a pretty good deal on it. runs great now since i had to put a transmission in it but still looks rough, figured i would start with the interior, then performance then body.

Atleast you live down south. It's hard to find clean-ish trucks up here in MN. Mine was a company truck for hauling tools or something, so it clean dent wise, just some peeling paint and surface rust.

new spark plugs, these are the ones i took out, not bad for 105k miles

new shocks, old ones were the ones that it came off the factory line with. truck rides alot better now. bilstein 5100s

color matched the front end to match the rest of the plastic on the body, duplicolor bedliner in a rattle can matches the texture pretty close also

also got a superchips handheld to recal the speedo and firm up the shifts. between the tuner and the new plugs/wires it has some pep back. only reason i got the handheld for now is a friend found one at his work that just happened to be for an 06 GM, problem was the software was outdated so i called them and they gave me credit towards a new one for sending the outdated one back in. over all im pretty happy with it as it sits so far. no where near what some of yall have but its a work in progress

I like the dash needles, did you order them online or are those like escalade style ones?
