Default Polishing or buffing stainless question.

A friend of mine gave me a corsa exhaust tip but its very dirty and has a few light scratches on it. I would like to have it looking like new again. What would be the best way to get the light scratches out and polish it.
Thanks

Use a buffing wheel on a bench grinder.. Use alot of rouge.. Buff the **** out of it, try too keep all of the passes in the same direction.. Then use a good metal polish

Make sure the rouge you have can cut steel but not too abrasive or you will lose some luster and have to go to a lighter grit compound.
Shouldn't really take too much work.

When you say keep all the passes in the same direction, do you mean make a pass, lift it off the wheel, go back to starting position and make another pass. What brand of rouge and polish do you recommend.

Yes, it will make the end result better. I am not sure what brand of rouge it is, but it is a white rouge. I have used ecp, flitz, never dull, all with about the same results.. Just have to take your time..

I use steel wool on mine too... depends on the condition of the finish. A picture would be good...
