1slow01Z71 nailed it perfectly. That's how mine were routed before I decided to mount the guages some where else. Also, if you don't have 4wd, the empty panel makes a great spot to mount some switches if you want control over the lights without having to tap in to the dimmer switch.

 

Good info. was wondering about the painting part. Because I have a triple pillar going in and I don't want it to look like this:

 

Yeah thats kind of nasty looking. You can go one of two ways like I said get some vinyl spray paint that is close to your interior color or you can get some dye made up that should be damn near identical. On the lighter interiors get them to mix the dye a bit lighter than usual due to the a-pilar pod being black to start out with.

 

I'm also in the process of doing the A pillar triple guage install. I bought VHS spray paint from Jegs that matches the GM interior colors. They have beige, charcoal and, I think, black. I got a can of the beige and it matches perfectly. My thanks to whoever it was that steered me to that item!!! Jim

 

I couldn't wait. I went to Lowes, took the cover off the jack storage, and had them color match it with the computer. I am putting the 2nd coat on now and it looks pretty close. If I was a patient person I would have ordered the exact match spray paint. If this doesn't look good in the end I may still do it. Check it out, looks a little shiny cause it' still wet.

 

Looks good I forgot all about Lowes or Home Depot being able to paint match that is another option.

 

for you guys that want to drill. there is a rubber grommet type thing below the brake booster to the right that you can just push the tubes/wires through. no drilling required. then get down and try pulling it through from the drivers side underneath the steering wheel and dash.

 

I have another question for you guys who have an A pilar pod. How did you mount it? I didnt gey any push pins, screws, nothing. All I got was the pod. I e-mailed the store I got it from and they said to use velcro or double sided tape? Are they shittinme? What do most people use? Do you slide this on top of the stock pillar or replace the stock pillar? Anybody got pics of an installed pod? Sorry for the hijack.

 

i cut a square hole in the stock pillar where i was going to run my wires through. then drilled 4 mounting holes on the pod pillar. lined up the pod pillar to stock, and marked it and then drilled that. then just lined em up and used the push pins. you should have had 4 or 5 of em in the stock radix packaging.

 

HOLY GOOD THINKING BATMAN! I guess I could paint the ones in the single pillar pod to match the triple and use those. I'm a tard Thanks Onyx
