Texas just recently passed a law that if the vehicle didn't come with HIDs from the factory they are illegal. Something about the wiring in the cheap sets causing vehicle fires, which I've never heard of and other drivers were complaining about the brightness. I went back to silverstars and so did a couple of my buddies because we got tired of getting pulled over and getting warnings for HIDs. Also, no paint pigment other than red is allowed on tails. Vehicles with smoked tails won't even pass inspection around here. Anybody else heard of these recent laws in Texas?

I've had HID's in Texas for years...never been hassled. That doesn't mean it's not a law though.
As far as tinted tails...I think the guys that do them almost black are asking for issues...just a light tint I don't see how that can be an issue since some vehicles come stock with tinted tails....the Chevy Trailblazers come to mind.
Hell...my old '88 T-Bird had factory tinted tails.

When you make you high beams stay on with the low beams.

in 99-02 truck you have to ground the yellow headlight wire, in 03-06 trucks you can do it by using diodes between the trigger pins on the headlight relays in the fuse box.

Here's some shitty pics of my lights. I just recently swapped morimoto mini H1 projectors into my denali headlights. I have 5k bullbs in the projectors, silverstars in my highs, plus bixenon highs, 6k leds in the praking lights, and 6k hids in smoked fogs.

I also got projector lens leds for the reverse lights, also 6k, and some 6k led boards in my cargo lamps. both are really bright.

I'd like to install some hids in my 2012, does anyone know if the day time running lamps run at a lower voltage than the low beams, like the obs do?
