just so you guys know. dezert1500 has a weld in underbed notch. not the regular bolt in notches. so he has a little more play room. mine was at 8" but would bottom out when i floored it. i think 7" would work tho

 

Always down for a little pic whoring. This is a 4/6 drop using a beltech flip and spindle and DJM springs.

 

With 8" drop and cal tracs my bolt in notch worked. Never hit bumpstops when launching

 

do NOT get a DJM flip kit. search up my suspension thread and i have the part numbers for you to build a nice flip kit for about $40 for all parts. the u bolts are most of that cost.

 

Indeed. Go to a trailer supply store n get everything thing there really if u have a torch cracker jack welder (i recogmend 220) but cracker jack will work. The jobs easily doable for a reasonable price. I think i spent $10 on mine (new purches). U can use the stock u bolts jus put a piece of 5/8 plate 8"long with a hole in it where the overload spring supposed to be and vuala!!!!

 

i dont even run a notch with my flip kit. Never even bottomed out. But i am running a set of work truck leaf springs. Not sure if they set higher than normal ones. What notch are all u guys going with? I think i would want to weld one in for added strength. What yall think?

 

Im running a mcgaughys flip kit and djm notch no issues. Im sure with caltracs it wouldn't bottom out but I also haul a load sometimes so 6" gives some extra clearance for that.

You can weld in any of these notches if you wanted too. But the one dezert has is from avsontheweb it's a weld in notch that goes above the frame and still fits under bed

 

Yea for sure. Im luckey enough to work at a fabrication shop so wasnt to hard for me but. Take pcs of flab bar have it bend at angle on each side for the notch. Put it up to the frame draw it so u can cut the frame out, insert it in tach weld in place. Weld it up then put some kinda support to box in the rest of the frame for support.
