my truck u-bolts were square at the ends to fit around the leaf spring. not sure if they are all like that, but you could not use the stock bolts with a flip kit on my truck.

I only plan to go 6" with the drop Trevor, i'm looking at the one from sport truck direct that chris had on his GMC, he said its pretty top notch

Yea there all almost the same anyways. And jb Mines at 6" now does pretty well for weight transfer lol. My mcgaughys flip kit uses stock u bolts
