Glad you like 'em. I've got no idea as far as tires go. I think my friend has Kumhos on those wheels. Not sure.

Ya, I am currently looking at Kumho's. They offer a 275/40ZR17 for only 117.99 ea. which is a steal for a Z rated tire. I currently have some 245/45R17's on the back of my '67 mustang and it has great dry weather tracton. I wish Kumho offered that tire in a 295 though as I can go wider than a 275. Still thinking though because wheel and tires will be about two months away.

Sweet truck. I wish I had the knowledge, facilities and cash to do something like that.

Truckmann, anybody can do this if they have the will and desire to do it. I just taught myself how to restore cars myself through trial and error and asking many questions. I have been doing this now for about 6 years, restored 4 cars, and I am only 21. I still live at home while I am going to college and have a 2 car garage to use. I am fortunate have a good friend that has a shop with a paint booth where I can do my own paint and body work. As for money, that is a big factor! I have a job where I work full time in the summer and part time during the school year, but that small income has to pay for SCHOOL and TRUCK! I just have to do all the spare work I can to gather as many funds as possible. But I know that the real world presents many more obstacles: bills, payments, job commitments, family, life, etc...

The best way to have something like this is to buy someone else's project where they lost interest, time, etc and is almost complete and just add your own finsihing touches to make it the way you want it and let their loss be your gain (you can usually pick them up at a fraction of the price that it cost to build). I personally like the challenge of doing EVERYTHING myself but I know in the long run that if I decide to sell it, I can probably get my money back but the countless hours of time that I have invested are mostly lost except for the memories. But that is part of the love of the game.

A 47-53 1/2 ton is on my list of things to do before I die, something with an LS something based engine (they will probably be antiques by the time I get the 30 grand to build the truck).
