I got rearended in Atlanta traffic. Wasn't a hard hit, but the bed crumpled and nicked the cab. Insurance totalled it out and cut me a check for $2200, to get the interior, drivetrain and wheels back I had to buy it back for $900. So I ended up with $1300 and a destroyed truck with a salvage title that had 2-3 years of time and paychecks in it.

Like I said, I love the look, just not on my vehicles....
im sorry to hear about that loss, thats why if i go rollpan ill put a 4x4 suare tubing behind it when end caps to reinforce it and then attack that to the frame.

Heres a pic of mine with a 3/5 kit. This was a few years ago and before the rollpan. If you get rear ended with or without these cheap *** bumpers, I doubt the damage will be much different.

This is prolly a stupid newb type question but..are those different paintable bumpers or are they just stripped of the chrome, prepped, and painted? After seeing that silver burch silverado i'm sold that its time to get rid of the chrome

I thought about color matching mine too but I have kids and can't keep them off the rear bumper.

I got rear ended by a Honda Civic when my truck was at stock height on 33's (it was a friend of mine who was following me lol), anyway he went right under and hit the spare tire. My truck was fine with just a few scratches under the bumper, while his hood was crushed 1/2 way up, radiator support was bent, radiator broke, hood latch shot, etc. If I only had a roll pan I'm not sure if he would have went under or just caught the roll pan...but this is a different scenario at stock height on 33's, not lowered.

most are the Work truck bumpers, they come primered. You can strip the chrome but i would rather paint over a work truck one

^^^^ Yeah I agree I painted my chrome bumper white, and starting to chip a little where the bumper lights are. I could see where they didnt sand down the chrome all the way. Work bumper trucks would be the best, I like the rears colormatch dont like chrome.

Looks great!!
