Painting questions
#1
I'd like to repaint my truck in the next couple of months, but I'm not sure exactly where to start. It's got minor rust that I will be fixing. I replaced the cab corners and rockers already. Truck is staying green, but going to rally green metallic, oem is the darker green metallic (don't know the name).
My problem is selecting paint type and primer type. Acrylic enamel vs acrylic urethane, it's roughly $40 difference online. Also, should I scruff up the paint and prime the entire truck, or only where I do rust repair ? And a gallon enough or should I get 2 ?

You have to prep the whole truck, top to bottom.
Sanding, smoothing, body filler and whatever else to make the surface nice and smooth. Then you can primer and paint.
You are going to need more than 1 gallon for sure on a truck.

Sounds good. I plan on sanding the entire thing first and doing the prep work. I noticed there are different kinds of primer and paint, from what I have read it looks like I should use 2k primer, and acrylic urethane paint ? anyone confirm this or have any opinions about the two ?
