Default Paint matched bumpers 06

I have an 06 1500 LS, with the greystone top cap and black valance, chrome bumper in between I would like to upgrade to a paint matched front bumper and possibly rear bumper or roll pan. Can anyone give me some options?

What bumper is this?

Hard to tell from the picture but.

Its either a chrome bar or a bar that someone painted silver birch to match the upper cap as well as the rest of the truck.

Looks like a factory bumper to me... With the chrome piece color matched of course. Same way I did mine. I'll try to get you a few pics!

That would be awesome. I wasn't sure if it was a different bumper or if the chrome was painted. are there any links to threads that explain the best way to paint the chrome bumper portion? I have never had much luck painting over chrome.

It's typically best to remove the chrome or get a painted silver bar from like a base model and paint it to match.

This exactly....

I manage a paint shop at work and painting chrome is a bad idea. Although if you are going to, have it brush blasted so give the paint something to hold onto. At the end of the day it's just a bad idea to paint over chrome. Even the factory trucks with factory painted bumpers chip like crazy.

Another idea, powder coat the chrome piece. I have no doubt sooner or later it will chip like anything else, but I do believe it will hold up better. That's what I did to mine. Again, I'll be posting up pictures ASAP. Waiting for truck to get back from the tuner.

Can you post some more pics of your truck? Mine is the same color and i'm debating painting the chrome on my bumper and grill, now that the bumper is starting to rust

This is the exact setup that's on mine. Except mine is black. But you get the point!

What's it usually cost a man to color match his bumper and cap?
